RESERVOIR CUTS CONTRIBUTE TO 11 BET AWARD NOMINATIONS

The nominees for the upcoming 2019 BET Awards were announced today and Reservoir cuts contributed to an impressive 11 nominations. The Cardi B and Bruno Mars sensual hit, “Please Me,” co-written by James Fauntleroy, earned nominations in both the Best Collaboration and Video of the Year categories, while Tyga’s collaboration with Offset on single “Taste” picked up a Best Collaboration nom.
Reservoir cuts further dominated the Album of the Year category: Travis Scott’s Astroworld, featuring a collaboration with Migos’ Takeoff on track “WHO? WHAT!,” Meek Mill’s album Championships, featuring the Young Thug collab on laid-back banger “Splash Warning” and Reservoir catalog cut “24/7” featuring Ella Mai, The Carters’ album Everything is Love, featuring cuts “Summer” co-written by James Fauntleroy, “Apes**t” featuring vocals and co-written by Offset, and “713” featuring an interpolation of Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E,” and lastly Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, featuring a collaboration with Migos on “Drip” and the vengeful slow jam “Thru Your Phone” co-written by Ali Tamposi, all received top accolades.
Childish Gambino racked up a nomination for the 2019 Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award for his #1 Billboard Hot 100 single,“This is America,” co-written and featuring vocals by Young Thug. J. Cole’s “Middle Child,” which samples Philly Groove cut “Wake Up To Me” by First Choice, also earned a Viewers Choice nom.
“This is America” and The Carters’ “Apes**t” were additionally nominated in the Video of the Year category.
