Mechanical License

If you’re looking to cover a Reservoir composition, please read more to learn which form may be applicable. 

Mechanical License

  • If you’re looking to cover a Reservoir composition and are releasing it on Streaming Services (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, etc.), the usages are covered by the MLC Blanket License. Please provide us with the associated metadata via the Covers on DSPs Form and no further licensing will be required.
  • If you’re based in the United States and are looking to cover a Reservoir composition and licensing more than 2,500 units as an individual or indie label, please create an account through the following link.
    • Once your account is created, you will be given directions to begin licensing via HFA’s eMechanical application.
  • If you’re based in the United States and are looking to cover a Reservoir composition and licensing fewer than 2,500 units as an individual or indie label, please go to the following link and create an account. From there, you can license and prepay for any musical work represented by HFA. 
  • Please be advised, whereas royalties for Songfile licenses are pre-paid at the time of purchase, licenses obtained via eMechanical require the licensee to submit quarterly reporting and royalty payments. Instructions for reporting will be provided once the account is created.
  • If you’re based in a territory outside of the United States and are looking to cover a Reservoir composition, please fill out the Mechanical License Request Form and Reservoir’s team will be in touch promptly.
  • If you’re looking to create a derivative work (e.g., translations, remixes, medleys, etc.) based on a Reservoir master and/or composition, please refer to the Adaptation License Request Form.

To perform a Reservoir composition publicly, please reach out to your local PRO (e.g., ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR in the U.S.).

Performance License
