RECENT ROSTER ADDITION TOY RELEASES NEW ALBUM ‘HAPPY IN THE HOLLOW’
Date:
Recent roster addition, UK-based indie rock group TOY dropped their fourth studio album Happy In The Hollow today, via Tough Love Records. The self-produced album sees the band transverse from dark and brooding post-punk on track “Happy In The Hollow” to that of the mellow and dreamy retro cut “The Wilco.” The Times gives the album five stars, exclaiming how it “sounds like nothing else out there,” while Contact Music notes “each song envelopes the listener with a satisfying warmth tainted with an uncomfortable unease that you’re never far from something a little more sinister.”
TOY bassist and vocalist Maxim Barron explained that Happy In The Hollow is “an album we feel deeply connected to”, as they were “starting from scratch and it felt very creative as a result.”
