Island Records’ technicolour pop star Petit Meller just dropped her very first studio album, Lil Empire, and it’s nothing short of an extraordinary adventure into Petite’s very own little world.

Flamboyantly styled and ever-colourful, Petite can easily be mistaken for an artist of aesthetic only. However, behind her playful façade, the philosophy MA student, actor, and artist delves into and challenges a number of deep, controversial topics, including adolescent sexuality, cultural appropriation, and the Freudian sub-conscious.

Reservoir’s Craigie Dodds worked with Petit throughout her creative process for Lil Empire, co-writing and producing the single “Milk Bath” and album track “Hawaii”.

An amazing album from a pop star with a difference…or several differences, there’s bound to be a lot more to come from Petite Meller.
