LEWIS CAPALDI RELEASES “LOST ON YOU” CO-WRITTEN BY RESERVOIR / REVERB MUSIC WRITER DAVID SNEDDON
Date:
Scottish breakout artist Lewis Capaldi released a new single, “Lost On You,” co-written by Reservoir/ Reverb Music writer David Sneddon, on Friday morning via Universal Music Germany. With his deep, raspy vocals, Capaldi delivers the heart breaking, piano-based “Lost On You” as a follow-up to his debut single, “Bruises.” “Subdued but passionate,” Clash Music proclaims of the track. “It’s a subtle return yet no less impressive than his debut.”
Speaking to Clash, Capaldi remarked, “I wouldn’t say the songs are connected in any way, they’re both about relationships but ‘Lost On You’ is more about feeling as though you can’t make someone happy no matter how much you try or how much you want to make things work. When I’m singing ‘hope you’ll be safe in the arms of another cause I can’t take the weight of your love’ I’m saying that I hope you’ll find someone else who can give you more than I can at that point.”
Sneddon, as part of The Nexus, a songwriting duo made up of Sneddon and James Bauer-Mein, has written hits including Hurts’ “Beautiful Ones,” English rock group The Courteneers’ “Modern Love,” and Jessica Mauboy’s “This Ain’t Love.”
