Biography
Yohani is a Sri Lankan singer-songwriter, rapper, and YouTuber. She started her music career on YouTube and soon gained recognition for her rap cover of the Sinhala song ‘Deviyange Bare’ and released several covers and originals that have earned her the title “Rap Princess” of Sri Lanka. She rose to prominence and gained global recognition for her viral hit “Manike Mage Hithe.” She also became the first Sri Lankan female singer to surpass 3.60 million subscribers on YouTube.
In 2019, Yohani co-founded the record label Pettah Effect alongside Dilanjan her manager. Her music quickly gained recognition not only in Sri Lanka but also across India and within South Asian diaspora communities in US, UK and Canada. In 2024, she released her much anticipated debut EP, Kella to widespread acclaim.
