TYLA YAWEH DROPS NEW SINGLE “TOMMY LEE,” FEAT. POST MALONE CO-WRITTEN/CO-PRODUCED BY XL
Date:
Tyla Yaweh dropped his new single today, “Tommy Lee,” featuring Post Malone and co-written/co-produced by Reservoir’s XL. Uproxx described the song as “a smooth melody with a clean rhyme scheme,” and predicted the single may be the “lead single to Yaweh’s upcoming sophomore album…slated for a summer 2020 release.” In conversation with NME, Yaweh explained the decision to name the track after Mötley Crüe’s drummer, Tommy Lee, as he captures the track’s message about “living life and spreading positive energy.” The track currently features a minimalist trap beat, but a later remixed version may include drumming from Lee himself. The accompanying music video reflects the carefree attitude of the song, juxtaposing a mountainous background and Yaweh’s dancing on a limousine with a more casual vibe featuring Yaweh and Malone riding ATVs and drinking beer out of cans.
