THE ROOTS’ ‘THINGS FALL APART’ PLATINUM AFTER 14 YEARS
Date:
Things Fall Apart, the acclaimed fourth album from neo-soul/hip-hop outfit The Roots, has been certified Platinum fourteen years after its February 1999 release. This is the band’s first Platinum certification.
Reservoir track “Ain’t Sayin’ Nothin’ New” appears on Things Fall Apart, a guitar-laced mid-album tentpole.
Gavin Purcell, producer of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon where The Roots act as house band, Tweeted congratulations for the long-awaited certification, with outlets like Complex and noting it as a “well deserved” accomplishment.
Congrats to @questlove, @blackthought & the rest of @theroots on their first ever platinum album, "Things Fall Apart". They are the best.
