Rap supergroup Beast Coast, made up of Joey Bada$$ and Kirk Knight of Pro Era alongside members of The Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers, released their debut album Escape From New York, today. The 13-track album includes the group’s previously released singles: the darkly hard-hitting “Left Hand, laidback “Coast/Clear,” and reggae-inspired “Snow In The Stadium.”

Joey Bada$$ described the collaboration to Complex, noting “there was definitely some nostalgic vibes here, but there’s nothing more powerful than the present moment, that’s really what it was.” Furthermore, HotNewHipHop calls Escape From New York “a long-form ode to the culture that enriched and bettered each of their lives from the ground up. Whether they’re dipping their oar in sultry mid-00s slow jam territory with “Far Away” and the hypnotic “One More Round” or striving to keep heads above water on the therapeutic “Problems,” there’s a versatility on here that would be startling if it came from anyone other than such pedigreed artists.”
