RESERVOIR WRITERS CUTFATHER & SAM SUMSER COLLAB ON KEITH URBAN’S #1 TOP COUNTRY ALBUM ‘THE SPEED OF NOW PART 1’
Date:
Keith Urban released his latest album The Speed of Now Part 1, which includes four collaborations with Reservoir writers Cutfather and Sam Sumser. Cutfather co-wrote/co-produced single “One Too Many” featuring Pink, and “Say Something,” while Sam Sumser co-wrote/co-produced “Out The Cage” featuring BRELAND & Nile Rogers and “Soul Food.”
Sounds Like Nashville’s noted the album explores “diverse soundscapes and lyrical concepts tailor-fit for the current times.” Urban himself described “Out The Cage” as in some ways about “quarantining and lockdown, but it’s also all kinds of oppression…And it’s ultimately about freeing yourself and how that feels.” Additionally, Keith Urban felt that including “One Too Many” on the album was a “no brainer” after hearing the song, according to PopCulture. On partnering with Pink, he added “She’s an incredible storyteller. You can feel all of her humanity when she sings, so she was just perfect for this.”
The Speed of Now Part 1 debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Charts and #1 atop Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart, also debuting #7 on the all-genre Billboard 200. “One Too Many” also debuted at #6 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
