RESERVOIR SIGNS TOP COUNTRY SONGWRITER JAKE MITCHELL
Date:
Reservoir announces the signing of top country songwriter Jake Mitchell to a worldwide publishing deal. The deal, signed together with veteran Music Row publisher Pat Higdon, includes songs from Mitchell’s catalog including “Ain’t A Bad Day” by HARDY and “Rolling Rock Rolling Stones” by Jameson Rodgers, plus future works.
Mitchell is currently ranked #3 on MusicRow’s Top Songwriter Chart and #8 on Billboard’s Country Songwriters Chart based on the litany of songs he’s written that have been recorded by country icons like Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Jameson Rogers, HARDY, Chrissy Metz, and more.
Current country singles by Mitchell have climbed the charts, with HARDY’s latest album A ROCK featuring “Ain’t A Bad Day,” landing at #4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #24 on the Top 200 chart in its debut week. Other Mitchell co-writes, “One Beer,” off HARDY’s A ROCK, and Jameson Rodger’s “Some Girls” have also been climbing the charts, crossing into the Top 10 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Originally from California, Mitchell learned to play the fiddle and guitar at a young age by his maternal grandfather. His dad, a church worship leader as well as an aspiring gospel songwriter, helped him hone his songwriting skills before Mitchell moved to Nashville to keep perfecting his trade.
“John Ozier and Greg Gallo have always been champions of my work and I feel so blessed to have the Reservoir team in my corner, joined by Pat who has been a believer in me for years now. I am as excited and inspired as I’ve ever been because of all this.”
Reservoir EVP of Creative, John Ozier says, “Jake is such a naturally gifted songwriter. His thorough understanding of the genre and where it can go has resulted in hit after hit for some of the biggest names in country music today. It’s a pleasure to welcome him to the Reservoir family.”
Added Pat Hidgon, “Jake is one of the most talented young writers I’ve ever worked with! He brings excitement and enthusiasm into every co-write. It’s going to be really fun working with John, Greg and the entire Reservoir team. We mean to kick ass!”
