RESERVOIR SIGNS RAPPER TROUBLE TO A WORLDWIDE PUBLISHING DEAL
Date:
Reservoir announces the signing of rapper Trouble to a worldwide publishing deal. The deal includes global rights to Trouble’s entire catalog of works, including his 2018 debut studio album, Edgewood, produced by frequent collaborator Mike Will Made-It.
Atlanta-native Trouble, real name Mariel Semonte Orr, released his debut studio album, Edgewood, in March of this year, after signing to Mike Will Made-It’s Ear Drummer Records under Interscope Records. Named after the Atlanta projects where he grew up, the album, produced by Mike Will, features collaborations with hip-hop and R&B heavyweights including Drake, The Weeknd, Quavo, and Fetty Wap, among others. Edgewood earned critical acclaim and broke through the Billboard 200 chart, spawning hit single, “Bring It Back” featuring Drake and Mike Will Made-It, which topped over 40 million streams. To accompany the album, Trouble debuted a short film last week, also entitled Edgewood, which examines the rapper’s life, influences, and colorful past.
Trouble also brings his Platinum-selling collaboration with YFN Lucci and fellow Reservoir rostermates Migos, “Key To The Streets” to the Reservoir catalog. The song was a Hot 100 hit and landed as high as 11 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. In addition, the Atlanta-native also has nine career-spanning mixtapes under his belt racking up upwards of 100 million streams collectively.
Says SVP of A&R and Catalog Development Faith Newman, “Trouble is the real deal. He’s a dynamic, multi-talented artist whose star is rising and we’re happy to have him join our fellow Atlanta talent Migos, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, XL, and J.I.D.”
Adds Trouble, “Excited to partner with Faith and Reservoir. No doubt their belief in me is appreciated and so far erthang been A1 no rocko!”
