Reservoir is pleased to announce the signing of Noby Sidez (pronounced “no b-sides”), the Los Angeles-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist behind the current pop climber “Boo Hoo”, performed by Epic Records artist Nick Tangorra.

Noby Sidez, whose real name is Jared Keith Griffin, started in the music industry as a composer working for BET. Now managed by musician, writer, and composer Eddie G., whose pop production pedigree includes projects for Disney’s High School Musical and Hannah Montana, Griffin is collaborating with up-and-coming talent like the iTunes Pop Music-charting teen singer Nick Tangorra. Tangorra’s recording of the Noby Sidez title “Boo Hoo” had already hit 22 million streams on Soundcloud by the time of its official release in June, and has since gone on to top 25 million streams on the platform and an additional 1.3 million on Spotify.

Spek, Reservoir’s Senior Vice President of Creative and A&R based in New York City, signed Griffin to his first-ever music publishing engagement. The deal was closed with Nashville-based songwriter and music publishing veteran Andrew Fromm, who continues to work with Griffin in a creative capacity.

Spek points to the organic success of “Boo Hoo” as proof of Griffin’s potential as a self-contained hit-maker.

“I was impressed when I learned that Jared had written and produced one hundred percent of ‘Boo Hoo’,” Spek says. “Many writers work alone, but it’s not often that a song written by just one person ends up being streamed 25 million times. Since then, it’s become clear that we have a very special talent in Noby Sidez that really lives up to his name.”

Griffin says about his prowess for pop music, “I’ve always admired the art of a pop song and how wide it can span stylistically. Even so, my interest is writing and producing smash hit songs for artists across any genre. Country to hip-hop to Latin—I’m there! I love it all.”

He adds that he is pleased to join the Reservoir roster, saying, “Reservoir has an incredible, experienced team and is small enough to offer attention to each writer they represent. I’m so excited to have a team in place to push my music, and really think I can make a dent in this business.”
