Thank you to all of our writers, partners, and staff for making 2017 a wonderful year for us all!
From being named Publisher of the Year at Music Business Worldwide’s The A&R Awards, to earning a Top 10 U.S. Market Share, plus the announcement of Reservoir President Golnar Khosrowshahi as one of Billboard’s Top 100 Most Powerful Female Executives, it has been an incredible twelve months for our entire family. AWARDS, NOMINATIONS, & CERTIFICATIONS
Reservoir won Music Business Worldwide’s The A&R Awards’ Publisher of the Year.
Reservoir President Golnar Khosrowshahi was named one of Billboard’s Top 100 Most Powerful Female Executives and a Billboard Indie Power Player.
Reservoir earned a Top 10 U.S. Market Share for Q2 2017, coming in at #7 with 2.1% of the total market share.
Annette Barrett was inducted into Music Week’s Women In Music Roll of Honour.
The 60th Grammy Award nominees include nods to the following outstanding artists and Reservoir releases:
- “Bad and Boujee” performed by Migos featuring Lil Uzi Vert is nominated for Best Rap Performance. The song was co-written by Migos’ Offset and Takeoff.
- Migos’ Culture is nominated for Best Rap Album. The album was co-written by Migos’ Takeoff and Offset.
- Michael Bublé’s Nobody But Me is nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. The album features title track “Nobody But Me,” plus “Take You Away,” co-written and co-produced by Jason Goldman. Goldman also co-produced additional titles on the album.
Reservoir’s RIAA certifications include: 6 multi-Platinum singles, 4 multi-Platinum albums, 12 Platinum singles, 3 Platinum albums, 16 Gold singles, and 1 Gold album.

Ali Tamposi – Multi-Platinum, Grammy-nominated Tamposi was named a 2017 Variety hitmaker, co-writting global smashes including Kygo x Selena Gomez’s “It Ain’t Me”, Camila Cabello x Young Thug’s “Havana”, Selena Gomez x Marshmello’s “Wolves”, Avicii’s “Lonely Together” featuring Rita Ora, and Rita Ora’s “Anywhere.” Read more.
Migos’ Offset and Takeoff – The Atlanta hip-hop group made waves this year for their #1 breakout hit “Bad and Boujee” off #1 Platinum-selling album, Culture, in addition to over 50 guest features and additional tracks. Read more.
Dave Bassett – Multi-Platinum, award-winning writer-producer best known for his work on Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” and Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” co-wrote and produced Vance Joy’s 2017 comeback single “Lay It On Me”. Read more.
Jim Beanz – Grammy and Emmy-nominated for his work on Fox’s Empire, writer-producer Jim Beanz also composed the music to The Simpsons 500th hip-hop themed episode this year, in addition to collaborating with Empire’s Jussie Smollet and Indonesian megastar Agnez Mo. Read more.
Just Blaze – Following a headlining set at Atlanta’s A3C Festival, earlier this year, multi-Platinum, Grammy-winning producer Just Blaze will next be featured on Eminem’s highly anticipated album Revival, co-producing the track “Like Home” featuring Alicia Keys. Read more.
Fekky – UK based rapper Fekky released his debut studio album, El Clasico, this year, before taking home Best Hip-Hop Act at the Urban Music Awards. Read more.
XL – Atlanta producer XL collaborated with fellow Reservoir rostermates Migos on their 2X Platinum-selling second single “T-Shirt”, while buzzy single “Space” performed by TK Kravitz climbed the charts. Read more.
Cutfather – An Ivor Novello award-winning writer-producer, Cutfather has collaborated with pop stars including Kylie Minogue, Demi Lovato, Olly Murs, and most recently, Little Mix. Read more.
CallMeTheKidd – North London writer-producer best known for collaborations with buzzing UK acts including Avelino, One Acen, and Hardy Caprio. Read more.
DVBBS – Canadian electronic duo DVBBS collaborated with Steve Aoki and fellow Reservoir writer 2 Chainz on “Without U”, plus released their latest album, Blood Of My Blood, this year. Read more.
Stylo G – Dancehall writer-performer Stylo G collaborated with Pixie Lott on single “Won’t Forget You”, in addition to releasing his own buzzing single “Yu Zimmie” featuring Chip. Read more.
Fatherson – Scottish rock band Fatherson spent the first half of 2017 touring in support of their album, Open Book, before heading back into the studio to begin work on their next project. Read more.
Greatness Jones – UE Awards Producer of the Year nominee Greatness Jones enjoyed worldwide success this year with his Mark Asari and The Avner collaboration “I Need A Good One”, which was featured on Universal Pictures’ 50 Shades Darker: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Read more.
The Orphanage – Writer-production duo The Orphanage earned a US Mainstream Top 40 #1 this year for their Demi Lovato collaboration, “Sorry Not Sorry”. Read more.
Benedicté – Sixteen-year-old Benedicté released her debut single “Turnt Up” in October, after spending much of 2017 working on her debut album set to be released via Discowax/Sony in Scandinavia. Read more.
Olivia Sebastianelli – British singer-songwriter Olivia Sebastianelli co-wrote and is the featured vocalist on Dutch DJ Sam Feldt’s latest single “Wishing Well,” released via Spinnin’ Records in November. Read more.
Tommy Baxter – As a member of the R&B/Soul group RITUAL, Tommy Baxter released the EP Real Feels earlier this year and debuted their live show in London, before heading back into the studio to work on their next project.
Big Life Management – Reservoir partnered with UK-based management company Big Life Management, acquiring a stake in 3,000+ copyrights from an eclectic roster of songwriters and expanding its business operations to include participation in artist management activities. Read more.
Oak Felder – Reservoir announced the formation of a new joint venture with Grammy-winning writer-producer Warren “Oak” Felder to sign and nurture creative talent for the company, with the first signing being Los Angeles-based production and songwriting duo The Orphanage. Read more.
Century Media – Reservoir acquired the music publishing catalogs associated with heavy metal, progressive rock, indie, and punk rock record label group Century Media. The deal included publishing rights amassed over the last 20 years with 9000+ copyrights and 350+ songwriter contracts. Read more.
Willie Mitchell – Credited with creating legendary recording artist Al Green’s signature sound, Willie Mitchell produced eternal hits, such as Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” and “I’m Still In Love With You,” and was integral in developing the distinctive ‘Memphis Soul’ sound. Read more.
Leon Ware – A renowned soul and R&B writer-producer, Leon Ware’s credits include Marvin Gaye’s acclaimed album, I Want You, and Michael Jackson’s “I Wanna Be Where You Are,” plus a wide array of samples in contemporary hip-hop by artists like Jay-Z, Tupac, and A Tribe Called Quest. Read more.
Thomas McClary – Guitarist Thomas McClary co-founded the Commodores after meeting Lionel Ritchie at college in 1968. Together, the Commodores became one of the biggest music groups in the world earning nine Grammy Award nominations, and picking up the award for best R&B Vocal Performance for their single “Nightshift” in 1986. Walter Orange – As part of the Commodores, Walter Orange, alongside McClary, co-wrote songs that contributed to six #1 albums on Billboard’s R&B charts, plus the release of some of the most timeless songs of all time, including “Brick House,” which also featured lead vocals by Orange. Read more.
Norman Harris – A pioneer of the Philly Soul movement, Norman Harris collaborated with soul and disco artists of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s including The Trampps, The Four Tops, The Temptations, First Choice, Loletta Holloway, Curtis Mayfield, and Blue Magic, among many others. Read more.

Jamie Hartman collaborated with Rag’N’Bone Man on his #1 debut album, Human, and co-wrote and produced hits for Jennifer Hudson, Kygo, JP Cooper, and Paloma Faith, among others. His talents were recognized with a Songwriter of the Year nomination at Music Business Worldwide’s The A&R Awards. Read more.
2 Chainz took home his first Grammy Award this year for Best Rap Song for his Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne collaboration “No Problem”. In addition, he released his #1 album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music and guest featured on more than a dozen singles. Read more.
Ina Wroldsen topped the charts with her Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson collaboration “Symphony”, which was featured in a BBC One ad campaign, plus co-wrote cuts with Rag’N’Bone Man, Tinnie Tempah feat. Tinashe, Disciples, and Jax Jones in addition to releasing her own solo single, “Strongest”. Read more.
Joey Bada$$ dropped his sophomore studio album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$, following his first-ever Gold certification for track “Devastated”. He toured worldwide and released collaborations with fellow Reservoir writer Statik Selektah, Snakehips & Anne-Marie, A$AP Twelvyy and more, plus has a writing credit on Post Malone’s eight week #1 hit “Rockstar”. Lucy Rose released her third studio album Something’s Changing, along with an accompanying mini-documentary of her 2016 South American tour and spent much of this year touring the world in support of the album and film. Read more.
Statik Selektah dropped his highly anticipated eighth studio album, 8, and collaborated with Termanology, Slaine, Joyner Lucas, and fellow Reservoir writers 2 Chainz, plus Joey Bada$$ on his album All Amerikkkan Bada$$, among others. Read more.
Nitin Sawhney received the prestigious Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award, plus released a live album, a collaborative project with Joss Stone, and scored the music for Andy Serkis’ directorial debut feature film, Breathe. Read more.
Lauren Christy took home Song of the Year award at BMI’s R&B Hip-Hop Awards for her contributions to G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha’s “Me Myself & I”. Christy also teamed up with Rexha on five of the six tracks off her All Your Fault Part 1 EP, including lead single “I Got You”. Read more.
Danja started off the year with the now Platinum-certified DJ Khaled cut, “Shining” featuring Jay-Z and Beyoncé, followed by collabs with French Montana, Keyshia Cole, and Gucci Mane. He also co-produced the majority of Indonesian superstar Agnez Mo’s debut album, X. Read more.
Mike Campbell‘s hit Daya co-write “Sit Still Look Pretty” landed a sync in the trailer for Universal Pictures’ upcoming Pitch Perfect 3, while new collaborations this year included cuts with Oshri, MacKenzie Bourg, and Harlee. Read more.
Phil Bentley teamed up with Tiësto and Vassy once again on “Faster Than A Bullet” off the DJ’s Club Live Vol. 5. Additional co-writes released this year include cuts performed by Echosmith, Hot Shade & Palm Trees, Paxton, Kumi Koda, and the late Christina Grimmie. Read more.
Pete Gordeno & Christian Eigner co-wrote tracks on Depeche Mode’s 14th studio album, Spirit, including single “Cover Me”. Gordeno & Eigner, long time touring members of the band, spent much of the year on the road in support of the album. Read more.
Terri B! landed her third Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart #1 with “Anthem Of House” and co-wrote/produced cuts with Mynga and Malarkey, Jeff Morgan & Selin Louise, LTN & Cassidy Ford, and Ramona Nera, the latter of which made it to the Romanian Selecția Națională finals. Read more.
WatchTheDuck dropped their Trojan Horse Deluxe EP and new single “Friends Only”, in addition to teaming up with David Banner and The Roots’ Black Thought on track “Who Want It” from Banner’s The God Box. Read more.
David Sneddon co-wrote the majority of tracks off British duo Hurts’ fourth studio album Desire, including the album’s three lead singles, plus collaborated on cuts performed by Courteeners, Lewis Capaldi, and Joseph J Jones. Read more.
Nicki Wells debuted her first two singles under the moniker Turya, “Rain” and “Falling”, accompanied by two breathtaking music videos. Read more.
Beatchild picked up a 2017 Juno Award nomination for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for his co-write “Soul Run” performed by Tanika Charles. In addition, he released a collaborative album, Sandie Black, with fellow Canadian writer Merna. Read more.
Craigie Dodds largely co-wrote Britain’s Got Talent winner Tokio Myers’ debut album, Our Generation, crafting nine of the thirteen songs on the record. Read more.
