RESERVOIR EXTENDS DEAL WITH JAMIE HARTMAN
Date:
Reservoir is pleased to announce a new deal with accomplished international songwriter and performer Jamie Hartman. Reservoir has worked with Hartman since the 2012 acquisition of U.K. publisher Reverb Music, and will continue to co-publish over 600 of Hartman’s pop, dance, and singer-songwriter titles under the deal.
Described as a “songwriter’s songwriter”, Jamie Hartman has established an extensive sphere of musical influence. The most recent fruits of his talent include domestic successes like Katharine McPhee’s “Don’t Let Me Know” for the NBC primetime drama Smash; Christina Aguilera’s “Army Of Me” from 2012’s Lotus; and CMJ favorite James Bay’s “Move Together”. Meanwhile, overseas, recent wins include Germany’s current #1 single, “When The Beat Drops Out” by Marlon Roudette; Italian artist Noemi’s “Passenger” from her #3 February release, Made In London; The Voice of Germany winner Andreas Kümmert’s “Solid Gold” and “Open Eyes”; and four tracks for international pop star Anastacia’s latest release and top ten U.K. debut, Resurrection.
Hartman’s twenty-year career began in the role of jingle writer for brands like McDonald’s, Dr. Pepper, Kodak, and Weight Watchers. His keenly commercial songwriting sensibility led to mainstream success with his own musical project, indie-pop band Ben’s Brother, which earned a prestigious Ivor Novello nomination in 2008 for the single “Let Me Out.” In 2010, Hartman relocated to Los Angeles to nurture songwriting ventures with dozens of prominent recording artists, Joss Stone, Jason Mraz, and Natalie Imbruglia among them. Next on the horizon are writing collaborations with Conrad of Lyor Cohen’s 300 Entertainment, and Aura Dione, the multi-Platinum Danish artist whose upcoming project Hartman will also executive produce.
Reverb Music Managing Director Annette Barrett has worked with Hartman for several years, mentoring him through his artistic growth and overseeing his rewarding co-writing activities.
“It’s a great pleasure to work with a songwriter as talented and versatile as Jamie,” Barrett says. “Jamie has an artist’s sensibility and a writing style that transcends genre or territory; he can work with anyone, anywhere, which fits very well within the Reservoir ethos of global creativity. We anticipate nothing but continued international success for Jamie.”
