Reservoir Dads That Rock
Date:
As Father’s Day approaches this Sunday, we take a moment to recognize and celebrate some of the wonderful dads on our roster. These talented dudes do more than write tunes—they also rock parenthood. Check them out below:
Statik Selektah became a dad to baby girl Harley in July of 2015. Prior to her birth, Statik took an audio recording of Harley’s heartbeat and created the instrumental track, “Harley’s Blues”, which he released just two weeks before her birth. 2 Chainz has three children: daughters Heaven and Harmony, plus son Halo, whom the Atlanta rapper welcomed last year. An über proud dad, Chainz regularly documents his children’s accomplishments and cuteness via his Instagram page. Just look at this adorable daddy-daughter dance!
Writer-musician Jamie Hartman proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as we’ve heard that the younger of his little tots loves to pluck out tunes on the keys like his dad. We’re sure the music video for Conrad Sewell’s “Remind Me” which Jamie co-wrote, was particularly meaningful to the father of two, as it showcases the everlasting bond between father and child.
An honorable mention goes out to Beatchild & The Slakadeliqs’ Byram Joseph, as the Toronto native is set to become a dad later this year. The recent release of his lyric video for “The Good Life” featuring sweet home video footage has us counting down the days until baby Beatchild arrives. His ‘good life’ is about to get great.
