RESERVOIR ANNOUNCES PUBLISHING DEAL WITH COUNTRY SINGER-SONGWRITER MARY KUTTER
Date:
Reservoir Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSVR) (“Reservoir” or the “Company”), an award-winning independent music company, today announced a new publishing deal for the full catalog and future works of country singer-songwriter Mary Kutter. This marks Kutter’s first publishing deal and includes hit songs “Wreckage” by Nate Smith and “Never Leave” by Bailey Zimmerman.
Based in Nashville, Kutter’s works have accumulated over 100 million streams and have been featured across national ad campaigns including the United States Postal Service, and television series and movies across Netflix, Amazon, and Showtime. In the last year alone, Kutter collaborated on Sirius XM Highway #1 “Never Leave” by Bailey Zimmerman off his 2022 EP Leave The Light On. The track reached #27 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, with the EP peaking at #2 on Top Country Albums and #9 on the Top 200. Kutter also co-wrote Nate Smith’s hit “Wreckage,” which is currently sitting at #31 on Hot Country Songs and is off his self-titled debut album. Released last week, Smith’s highly anticipated album also features other Kutter-penned works. Her latest collaborations include “Runs in the Family,” performed by up-and-comer Zandi Holup, and “Drag Queen” by queer country artist Chris Housman, which went viral on TikTok prior to release.
Kutter began her music career hosting a weekly TV/radio show at a station near Louisville, Kentucky, while performing and writing on the side. In addition to working as a songwriter, Kutter also writes and performs her own music, including “Storm Chasers,” “Hothead,” and “Build Your Own House,” all released this year.
On signing with Reservoir, Kutter said, “I couldn’t have dreamed of a better team than Greg, Beth, and John at Reservoir. I love how they think outside the box and when I first told them about my dreams, they made it clear that no dream I had was too big, and we were going to chase them down together. I’m so excited and grateful for this next chapter.”
Reservoir EVP of Creative John Ozier also commented, “Mary’s personality is as infectious as her melodies. Her positive attitude coupled with her fierce work ethic is already paying dividends with cuts by some of country music’s biggest artists.” He added, “Working with an incredible talent and wonderful person like Mary is one of the most rewarding parts of this business, and she is a great addition to Reservoir’s ever-expanding roster of country artists.”
