RESERVOIR ANNOUNCES DEAL WITH POP-PUNK SINGER-SONGWRITER CHARLOTTE SANDS
Date:
Reservoir Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSVR) (“Reservoir” or the “Company”), an award-winning independent music company, today announced a worldwide publishing deal with pop-punk singer-songwriter Charlotte Sands. The deal includes Sands’ new single “Lost,” tracks off her recent EP, Love and Other Lies, plus future works.
Released in January, Love and Other Lies has contributed to Sands’ impressive 25 million streams across all platforms, with songs from the EP being added to over 30 editorial playlists on Spotify. Reservoir’s deal includes both the title track “Love and Other Lies” and single “Keep Me Up All Night,” the latter of which was released alongside a music video. Most recently, Sands released an upbeat single about the struggles of growing up, entitled “Lost,” co-written with Reservoir roster mate Sam Sumser. Alternative Press praised the release as a “celebration of the outsider,” noting that “positivity radiates, especially from the track’s vibrant chorus, which boldly embraces feeling lost as a natural and meaningful part of life.”
Based in Nashville, Sands first came crashing onto the scene in 2020 with her anthemic, self-expression single “Dress.” Listeners across the globe responded to the single’s positive message, propelling it to virality with over 22 million streams on Spotify alone. Since then, Sands has cultivated her talent, honing her skilled storytelling and powerful vocals that have secured her place within the pop-punk revival.
With a strong existing fanbase, Sands has gained increasing industry recognition. Alternative Press named her one of “11 rising artists who fine-tuned their sound” in 2020, and Spotify chose her for the cover of their year-end playlist Fresh Finds: Best of Pop 2020. Over the past few years, Sands has also deepened her touring experience, selling out a headlining show at the famed High Watt, opening for All Time Low, and touring with Yungblud on his Life on Mars tour. Additionally, Sands begins an upcoming tour with The Maine today.
Reservoir Executive Vice President of Creative John Ozier commented, “Charlotte has charted her own path within the pop-punk resurgence, delivering powerful tracks with fun and deep messages that really resonate with fans. Her future is undoubtedly very bright, and we look forward to supporting her burgeoning career.”
“I am so excited to be joining the Reservoir team working alongside industry legends like John Ozier, [Reservoir VP of Creative] Greg Gallo, and Sam Sumser,” Sands commented on the deal. “The songs have always been the most important part of my artistry and I feel really lucky to have found a publishing home that understands my art and supports my creative decisions and goals. I couldn’t be more grateful for this partnership!”
