NITIN SAWHNEY’S ‘DYSTOPIAN DREAM’ DANCE THEATRE SHOW, A MASTERPIECE

Based on and using the music from Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award winner Nitin Sawhney‘s 2015 album Dystopian Dream, the dance theatre show of the same name has wrapped up its successful 2018 tour, closing out the show in a 2-day stint at Sadler’s Wells, London. Co-devised with Sawney, Honji Wang, and Sébastien Ramirez, Dystopian Dream“combine[d] choreography, live music, and theatre to examine themes of loss, isolation, surrender, and continuity” in a “stunning visual spectacle”. The performance captivated crowds, Financial Times noted, calling the five-star show a “collaborative masterpiece that takes dance theatre to another level”.
