MIGOS’ TAKEOFF RELEASES SOLO ALBUM ‘THE LAST ROCKET’
Date:
ATL rapper and Migos member Takeoff dropped his first solo album, the 12-track LP The Last Rocket today, via Quality Control Music.
“Martian” sets the stage for the project as the first track, with eerie audio of a space shuttle launch introducing the album. The album’s dreamy lead single, “Last Memory” has already scored more than 7 million views since its music video release on YouTube last Friday. Social-media praised standout track “Infatuation” features sentimental vocals from singer Dayytona Fox followed by a short but sweet verse by Takeoff. “Takeoff is a man of small words; he usually lets the music speak for itself,” said Quality Control CEO Pierre Thomas, at a private listening of The Last Rocket.
The project’s release trails less than a month behind fellow Migos member Quavo in his release of QUAVO HUNCHO, featuring the Takeoff collaboration “KEEP THAT SHIT,” and follows Migos’ third studio album Culture II, which dropped in January. Migos’ next project, Culture III, is expected to be released in 2019.
