MIGOS’ OFFSET DROPS NEW SOLO SINGLE ‘RED ROOM’ & MUSIC VIDEO
Date:
ATL rapper and Migos member Offset released his debut solo single “Red Room” today, via Quality Control Music. The introspective cut with a hypotonic trap beat, off of his highly anticipated debut solo album due out February 22nd, takes a raw look at Offset’s past history, struggles, and successes.
The rapper also dropped an autobiographical music video for the single, directed by Aisultan. Regarding the pensive track, Rolling Stone notes “Offset deftly moves between a croon and Migos’ patented triplet flow, peeling off lines about growing up, run-ins with the law, losing friends and his near-fatal car crash,” while the music video “mirrors the song’s thematic elements as the camera slowly spins through various scenes from Offset’s life.”
Offset is off to a whirlwind year releasing recent Migos’ singles “Position to Win” and Mustard collab “Pure Water”, along with contributing to Cardi B’s Grammy-winning and Juno nominated album Invasion of Privacy, and Beyonce and Jay-Z’ Grammy-winning album Everything Is Love. The trio’s fourth studio album, Culture III, is also set to drop later this year.
