LOCO IRONICO RELEASE NEW ALBUM ‘CARPE AFTERNOON
Date:
Loco Ironico, the brainchild of friends and collaborators Joe Cang and Matteo Saggese, release their new album, Carpe Afternoon, today. Carpe Afternoon’s release is thanks, in part, to the support of fans who funded the album via a crowd-sourced campaign—as independent artists, Loco Ironico relied on the intimate connection between fan and artist to bring the album to life authentically.
Recorded in the Italian countryside, this eleven-song LP is beautifully balanced between jazz and tango. Blues and Soul notes Cang and Saggese’s synergy on the release, saying, “Joe’s vocals are faultless. His versatility is a rare gift. His tone, timbre, and phrasing, masterful,” while “Matteo really does have a golden touch on the piano.”
Cang and Saggese recently discussed how commitment to the album’s authenticity was a driving force in the recording process and musician selection, and why Carpe Afternoonsignifies a more relaxed approach to their hectic lives.
A physical version of the album is available via Discovery Records. Subscribe to Loco Ironico on YouTube and stream the album below:
