Danish-born pop artist, MALO, is our latest addition to the Reservoir family. The singer-songwriter grew up as a child of a diplomat, which took her all over the world, to countries like Kenya, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Nepal, Australia, Canada, the UK and the US. Her nomadic lifestyle created a unique artist, who doesn’t just express herself from one angle but instead from a heart that shines with all the colours of the rainbow. MALO’s musical journey started when she was 13 years old, when she landed her first job, singing in the Queen of Denmark’s church choir. She has a university degree in journalism and has worked as a reporter for a number of newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations around the world. During that time she used her writing prowess to create magical pop songs, which she recorded in Dubai, New York, Minneapolis and Copenhagen. MALO is currently based in Copenhagen and is hard at work on her debut EP. She was snapped up by Danish publisher and record label, Lifted House, after one of her songs, Kiki Dots, garnered much attention and critical acclaim at a national song-writing competition. Her music has been called cool and crooked, with songs that are a melting pot of catchy melodies, quirky lyrics and an honest, clear voice, that makes you want to hear her again and again.
