He also made a name for himself as a rapper after forming Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz were signed to Mirror Image Records releasing Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album in 1997. They released another album in 2000, We Still Crunk by BME Recordings. It was not until TVT Records released the debut album Put Yo Hood Up, containing the single “Bia’ Bia,’” that Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz got national airplay. In 2003, he produced for his group the Top Five hit, “Get Low” featuring the Ying Yang Twins, which has become a club phenomenon. Lil Jon went on to produce several hits for other artists such as “Salt Shaker” performed by the Ying Yang Twins, “Goodies” performed by Ciara, “Freek-a-Leek” performed by Petey Pablo, and “Yeah!” performed by Usher.
