Nashville-based Jeff Trott is most often associated alongside Sheryl Crow with whom he has written and made records going back to Sheryl’s eponymous album from 1996.  Jeff’s catalog with Sheryl includes “If It Makes You Happy”, “Soak Up The Sun”, “My Favorite Mistake”, “Every Day Is A Winding Road”, “A Change Would Do You Good” amongst many other classic album tracks.  Jeff was BMI Songwriter of The Year in 1998.  Jeff was also a touring member of Sheryl’s band throughout the 90’s. Jeff and Sheryl continue to work together to this day with their recent collaboration “Forever” seeing a Grammy nomination for Best American Roots Song.

A gifted instrumentalist, producer, as well as writer, Jeff’s career has seen him collaborate with many folks across the pop/rock/country spectrum. He played with World Party in the early 90’s, appearing on the Goodbye Jumbo album. He also toured with Tears For Fears and Pete Droge.

As a producer, Jeff has worked with Stevie Nicks, Hootie & The Blowfish, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Sara Evans, and Leighton Meester among others.

Trott’s catalog has seen cuts from a diverse array of folks including Joe Cocker, Brandy Clark, Bonnie Raitt, Mavis Staples, Counting Crows, Tears For Fears, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Sara Evans, Randy Houser, Lucie Silvas, Hayes Carll, Hootie & The Blowfish, Natalie Hemby, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Andrew Combs, Bethany Cosentino, Morgan Kibby, St. Vincent, Marc Broussard, Robert Randolph, Augustana, G Love & Special Sauce, Kevin Griffin, Kristian Bush. Jeff continues to write/produce across multiple genres, including sync, and is thrilled to be joining the team at Reservoir.
