In 2023, Jamie collaborated with Lewis Capaldi on “Heavenly Kind of State of Mind” off Capaldi’s highly-anticipated #1 UK Official Chart album Broken by Desire to be Heavenly Sent. Jamie also co-wrote Rudimental’s Top 5 hit “Dancing Is Healing” with Charlotte Plank and Vibe Chemistry. Jamie’s other recent international acclaim includes collaborating with Brit’s Rising Star recipient Celeste on 9 tracks off her #1 UK Official Chart debut album ‘Not Your Muse’, including hit singles “Stop This Flame” and “Strange”, co-writing Capaldi’s “Hold Me While You Wait” plus co-writing/co-producing “Don’t Get Me Wrong” off the singer’s acclaimed #1 UK Official Chart 2019 album ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’, as well as teaming up with Calvin Harris and Rag’N’Bone Man on the duo’s 2019 #2 UK Official Singles chart track “Giant”. Hartman previously worked with Rag’N’Bone Man on his global smash hit single “Human”, which racked up a host of accolades and accomplishments including a 2018 BRIT Award for Best Single, as well as topping 33 iTunes charts around the world, a 12-week run at #1 on Germany’s Official Singles Charts, and earning Rag’N’Bone Man the coveted BRITs Critics Choice Award. In addition, he co-wrote Miriam Bryant’s “Black Car”, which went 4x Platinum and picked up the esteemed Swedish P3 Gold 2017 Song of the Year Award, Mads Langer’s Platinum-selling “3AM”, which was the biggest radio single of 2016 in Langer’s home territory of Denmark, and several cuts with Conrad Sewell, including “Start Again” which took home ARIA’s “Song Of The Year” Award in 2015.
Hartman also co-wrote singles for a multitude of major label artists including Backstreet Boys (“Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”), Jennifer Hudson (“Remember Me”), Leon (“I Believe In Us”), Kygo (“Stargazing”), JP Cooper (“Passport Home”) and Kacy Hill (“Lion”), earning him two 2018 Grammy nominations for “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and “Stargazing (Remix)”.
In creative licensing, Hartman’s music has been featured in several commercials, television shows, and movies – from early beginnings writing jingles for the likes of McDonald’s, Dr Pepper, Kodak, and Weight Watchers, to placing his own artist recordings like “Stuttering (Kiss Me Again)”, “Let Me Out, and “Beauty Queen” on productions for Dentyne Ice, Grey’s Anatomy, and Pretty Little Liars, respectively. In 2013, Hartman saw original song “Don’t Let Me Know” placed on the NBC show Smash, performed by Katharine McPhee. More recently, Hartman’s Rag’N’Bone Man co-write “Human” was used in the trailer for Ava DuVernay’s Oscar-nominated documentary 13th. In 2021, Jamie was shortlisted for an Oscar nomination for a Music (Original Song) award for his work on “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” by Jennifer Hudson from the Aretha Franklin biopic ‘Respect,’ co-written alongside Hudson and Carole King. Hartman also earned a 2023 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his collaboration “Fought and Lost” by Sam Ryder feat. Brian May, which was featured in the final season of the Emmy award-winning series ‘Ted Lasso.’
