Franne Golde is an American songwriter born in 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. Her musical career first started in a rented studio at Chess Records in Chicago, learning under the supervision of R&B artists, producers, and songwriters who recorded there. It wasn’t until the early 1970s when Franne began to focus her career on songwriting. She first wrote for Carole Bayer Sager, who would later introduce her to Richard Perry. Shortly after, she would move to Los Angeles where she would sign her first publishing deal with Braintree Music.

Franne’s first success came when Diana Ross cut “Getting’ Ready For Love,” a song co-written by Franne and Tom Snow. One of her biggest successes came from her co-write of “Don’t Look Any Further” by Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett, which has been sampled by a number of artists including Snoop Dogg, TLC, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., and Lauryn Hill. Other successful singles include “Stickwitu” by Pussycat Dolls, “Be” by Jessica Simpson, “So Emotional” by Christina Aguilera, “I Belong to You” by Whitney Houston, and “Nightshift” by The Commodores, which was covered by Bruce Springsteen in 2022 for his Grammy Award-winning album Only The Strong Survive.

Franne has also been involved with multiple successful soundtrack albums and tracks including the Grammy Award-winning The Bodyguard, Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop II, Selena (featuring hit single “Dreaming of You”), along with top TV series Miami Vice and Touched by an Angel.
