Lil Wayne released his long-awaited new album Tha Carter V today, via Young Money Records. The 23-track project features an attention-grabbing pitch-shifted sample of 2 Chainz‘ “Dedication” off 2016 album ColleGrove on track “Dedicate”. Of the cut, DJBooth notes it’s hard-hitting “insane start” and “heavy 2 Chainz vibes” as Wayne transcends into “an elder statesman sitting on his thrown and demanding you remember who he is”. “Dedicate” also notably features a snippet of a Barack Obama speech mentioning Lil Wayne.
