Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi dropped his latest single “Hold Me While You Wait,” co-written by Jamie Hartman, today. Capaldi explained the soaring and intimate ballad’s theme, dealing with “the uncertainty of being in a relationship when your partner isn’t sure what they want” and feelings of “impending hopelessness to the whole thing, on both sides.” Idolator further noted the single is an “emotional sucker punch that painstakingly depicts the end of a relationship.”

The heartfelt track topped iTunes’ UK Top Songs chart at #1 upon release, in addition to racking up over 1.5 Million streams on Spotify within 24 hours. “Hold Me While You Wait” is off the singer’s forthcoming debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, due out May 17th.
