J. COLE DROPS MUSIC VIDEO FOR SINGLE ‘MIDDLE CHILD’, FEATURING PHILLY GROOVE SAMPLE

J. Cole released a music video for his hit single “Middle Child,” which features a sample of Reservoir catalog cut “Wake Up to Me” by 70’s soul girl-group First Choice. In the video, of which The FADER remarks is “a fun, symbolic, and provocative set of visuals,” Cole drives through muddy roads, rides a shopping cart through a grocery store, and hangs out in a log cabin adorned with the heads of rappers he’s killed. “Middle Child” is the highest-charting single of Cole’s career thus far and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. He recently performed the cut at the 2019 NBA All-Star halftime performance.
