DRAKE DEBUTS AT #1

New Drake album Nothing Was The Same debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 after its September 24th release. With 658,000 units sold, the only album to sell more this year is Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience, which peaked at 968,000 units and the #1 spot. This debut marks a new high for Drake, whose last release, the Grammy-nominated Take Care, started at number one with 631,000 units sold.
Reservoir writer 2 Chainz appears on the extended version of Drake’s release, appearing on a cut called “All Me” that was first teased back in August.
With Nothing Was The Same, Drake bests debuts by rock band Kings of Leon at number 2 and entertainment legends Cher and Elton John and numbers 3 and 4, respectively.
