DAVE KOZ RELEASES ‘SUMMER HORNS II: FROM A TO Z’ FEATURING BILLY STRAYHORN’S ‘TAKE THE ‘A’ TRAIN’ MASHUP

Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist Dave Koz released his new album Summer Horns II: From A to Z, today via Concord Records. The album features the track “Medley: A to Z (Take the ‘A’ Train/Make the Road by Walking)” which is a mashup of Billy Strayhorn’s classic jazz standard and JAY-Z’s “Roc Boys (And the Winner Is)…” The jazz medley gave the album its title: from “’A’ Train” to JAY-Z. The track’s horn arrangement is by Grammy-winning composer Gordon Goodwin, and the rhythm arrangement is by Goodwin and jazz producer Rick Braun.
