CONRAD SEWELL’S ‘START AGAIN’ WINS ARIA AWARD FOR ‘SONG OF THE YEAR’
Date:
Australian singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell’s hit single “Start Again” took home the top prize for Song Of The Year at the 2015 ARIA Awards, beating out nine other nominees including tracks performed by Iggy Azalea, Sia, and Vance Joy. The Song Of The Year category is only one of four ARIA categories in which winners are calculated by popular public vote.
Written with Reservoir writer Jamie Hartman, “Start Again” was officially certified Gold and topped the ARIA charts in Sewell’s home country earlier this year. The official music video for the song debuted only two weeks ago and is nearing a quarter million views.
At the ARIA awards show in Syndey, Sewell took to the stage, backed by a choir, to perform a mash up of his new single “Firestone” and “Start Again”, in what became a touching tribute to the events in Paris that rattled the world and music community earlier this month.
