CAMILA CABELLO DROPS “HAVANA” CO-WRITTEN BY RESERVOIR’S ALI TAMPOSI
Date:
Pop singer Camila Cabello dropped new single “Havana” feat. Young Thug, co-written by Reservoir hit songwriter Ali Tamposi, on Thursday via Syco Music and Epic Records. The release was a part of a double feature alongside “OMG” feat. Quavo as both tracks will be included on the former Fifth Harmony singer’s debut solo album The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving, due out this fall. Cabello teased the piano-infused track on August 1st, promoting the release on Instagram with a 19-second clip of the track playing at what appeared to be a drive-in movie theatre, and a follow-up image of a romantic relationship. The song, whose chorus reads “half of my heart is in Havana, oh na na / He took me back to east Atlanta, na na na” tells the story of the singer falling in love with the wrong guy and longing for her Cuban roots.
Ali Tamposi’s latest co-write is the follow up to RIAA Platinum Certified, Kygo and Selena Gomez collaboration “It Ain’t Me” which has been topping charts since its release back February. The single was recently nominated for both Teen Choice and MTV Music Video Awards.
