ART BRUT TO RELEASE ‘TOP OF THE POPS’ COMPILATION ALBUM
Date:
English and German indie rockers Art Brut have come full circle. Kicking off their career with a single appropriately entitled “Formed A Band,” the group rose to prominence as part of the early aughts indie wave that included Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party. Now, ten years after their fateful formation, the quintent is releasing a retrospective double album entitled Top Of The Pops.
With the exception of two new songs, Top Of The Pops features thirty-nine of the group’s past hits (many of which you’ll find in the Reverb catalog), as well as covers, B-sides, and demos. On their quest to becoming a classic rock act, the band wrote, their “mission is complete.”
Top Of The Pops will be available on April 16, as announced at the beginning of March.
