LAURA MARLING RELEASES ALBUM ‘SONG FOR OUR DAUGHTER’

Laura Marling, recent Chrysalis Records’ re-launched frontline label signee, released her new album Song For Our Daughter, today. Upon release, the album immediately received rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork, Independent, The Guardian, The Telegraph, NME, Stereo Gum, Uproxx, and more.
Pitchfork noted “The starkly beautiful seventh album from the venerable singer-songwriter reveals more of her aged wisdom through winding narratives rich with humor and despair.” Independent further elaborated “more subtle than her previous works, these new songs are as fragmented and beautiful as stained glass.” While in regards to listener-favorite “Fortune”, Uproxx described “you can hear the budding folkie Marling once was and the supremely skilled master she has become, playing a song that is simple yet profound, like a personal journey through life.”
Marling stated in an interview with NPR, “My experience of hearing what people say to me about what they hear in my albums is that they hear something uncanny, something that’s nearly them but not quite, but it makes them feel understood.”
