Donald Glover, aka R&B-rapper Childish Gambino, dropped the music video to his latest single “This Is America”, while simultaneously performing the track on Saturday Night Live. The catchy single, featuring vocals and a co-writing credit by Reservoir’s Young Thug, has been lauded for it’s powerful message and societal commentary. Called a “satirical masterpiece” by The Guardian, the music video for “This Is America” is further noted by TIME as a “searing social critique of pop culture and the experience of being black in America today.. alluding to everything from police violence to racial stereotypes and social media obsession as components of the modern American experience.”

Additionally premiering the single on Saturday Night Live, Gambino, surrounded by dancing schoolkids and a dynamic laser show, mesmerized the audience with his nuanced live performance art-style.
