ESTHERO ON SHORT-LIST FOR POLARIS HERITAGE PRIZE

Reservoir writer Esthero has been placed on the short-list for the Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize, a prize honoring Canadian albums of the highest artistic quality from four distinct time periods (1960-75, 1976-85, 1986-95, and 1996-2005), without regard to sales or affiliations. Each era’s short-list was curated by a panel of Canadian music media professionals and historians. Esthero’s 1998 album Breath From Another is nominated in the 1996-2005 category.
In addition, Canadian hip-hop group Dream Warriors is nominated in the 1986-1995 category for their debut album And Now The Legacy Begins. Reservoir SVP of Creative and A&R Spek was a member of Dream Warriors in the ‘90s before switching gears to the business side of the music industry.
Public voting closes on October 17th and the winning albums in each era will be announced October 24th. Vote for your favorites here.
