LOCO IRONICO ‘CARPE AFTERNOON’ NOW AVAILABLE FOR PREVIEW
Date:
Frequent collaborators Joe Cang and Matteo Saggese have reunited again for Carpe Afternoon–the debut album under their new moniker, Loco Ironico. The 11-song project, which was recorded over four days in the Italian countryside, features Itaian musician and composer Saggese on piano and British singer-songwriter Cang on vocals. With themes of heartache, shipwreck, and weight loss plus flavors of New Orleans jazz, Cuban tango, and calypso threaded throughout, Carpe Afternoon is “music for those with a taste for the ironic and laconic and for those who prefer whisky to tonic,” says Cang. The album also features special appearances from Phil Manzanera, Sarah Jane Morris, Pepe Servillo, Steve Sidwell, Tony Remy, and Ben Castle.
