British songstress Ellie Goulding released her highly anticipated sophomore album, Halcyon, this week, complete with the industry’s first digital album signing.  “Explosions,” the ninth track on Halcyon, was co-written by Reverb Music writer John Fortis.

“Explosions” showcases Ellie’s distinctive vocals against tinkling piano, sweeping strings, and angelic choir vocals.  Ellie herself explains that the song is, in part, an ode to classical music, which fascinates her.
