ONE RIOT AND RESERVOIR ANNOUNCE PUBLISHING DEAL WITH COUNTRY SONGWRITER JON DECIOUS
Date:
Nashville-based songwriter has multiple co-writes on Lainey Wilson’s smash album Whirlwind, including “4x4xU” – #1 most added song at Country radio last week
One Riot, a boutique music publisher and record label, and Reservoir Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSVR), an award-winning independent music company, today announce a new deal with Nashville-based songwriter Jon Decious. Signed via One Riot’s joint venture with Reservoir, the deal includes Decious’ full catalog and future works.
Currently based in Nashville, Decious is an in-demand songwriter, with this year turning out to be one of the best of his career. Decious has three co-writes on Lainey Wilson’s monumental new album, Whirlwind, including “4x4xU” – the #1 most-added song at Country radio last week – “Counting Chickens” and “Ring Finger.” Today’s Country Magazine praised “4x4xU” for its “crafty songwriting, core country storytelling, and crisp descriptives.” Whirlwind debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and at #3 on Top Country Albums. Decious also co-wrote the lead-off track “Armadillo,” expected this Friday, from Miranda Lambert’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, Postcards from Texas. In addition, he has worked with Tyler Halverson on his upcoming project, Western Amerijuana Pt 2, coming this October. Decious has also collaborated with a range of country artists including Ashley McBryde, The Oak Ridge Boys, Kylie Morgan, Anderson East, Paul Cauthen, and Lola Kirke, among others.
On the new deal, Decious commented, “I just feel like the luckiest guy there is! I’m incredibly grateful and forever indebted to my amazing co-writers and artists and for the support of the amazing team that surrounds me, from One Riot to Reservoir to Red Light Management. If I had a better word than ‘blessed’ for the way I feel about it, I’d use that, but I don’t. ‘Blessed’ sums it up perfectly.”
One Riot President Amy Patton also commented, “Jon is a rare songwriting talent who can weave unique stories that hook your attention and melodies that get stuck in your head for days. It is a true privilege to get to work with Jon at this exciting time in his life and career and to call him a friend.”
Reservoir Executive Vice President of Creative John Ozier added, “Jon is a great addition to the Reservoir and One Riot family. We are happy to join One Riot in supporting Jon at this pivotal moment in his career as his star continues to rise.”
