Based On A T.R.U. Story, the debut album from rapper and Reservoir songwriter 2 Chainz, has been officially certified Gold.

The high marks are no surprise–Based On A T.R.U. Story, or ‘B.O.A.T.S.’ as it’s referred to by fans and Chainz alike, has been a fixture in pop culture’s consciousness since its August release.  After debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200, B.O.A.T.S. spawned the hit singles “No Lie” featuring Drake, which was certified Platinum in November; “Birthday Song” featuring Kanye West, which is also reportedly certified Gold; and “I’m Different,” which recently became the featured song in Adidas’ adiColor advertising campaign, starring the former basketball player.
