FAITH NEWMAN NAMED TO BILLBOARD’S 2022 R&B/HIP-HOP POWER PLAYERS LIST
Date:
Today, Billboard released its 2022 R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players list, highlighting executives across the genre for their contributions to the industry and in the world of R&B and Hip-Hop. Reservoir congratulates Executive Vice President of A&R and Catalog Development Faith Newman, who has earned a spot on the list.
Faith Newman has been with Reservoir for 11 years, actively assisting in growing the roster and driving the catalog to the force it is today. Her unwavering passion for R&B/Hip-Hop has ushered in several signings for Reservoir, including recent deals for the catalogs of iconic hip-hop producers and songwriters Larry Smith, Dan the Automator, and Marley Marl, as well as signing Grammy-winning artist and songwriter Killer Mike. Additionally, Faith remains the creative lead for Reservoir talent J.I.D, Just Blaze, and Joey Bada$$, among others.
In the past year, Faith played the integral role in Reservoir’s integration of recently acquired of Tommy Boy Music. Her depth of understanding and experience within Hip-Hop has enabled her to hit the ground running with the roster’s impressive catalog of artists and projects, including planning 30th anniversary celebrations for Naughty By Nature and working closely with iconic group, De La Soul, to bring their music to streaming platforms for the first time ever.
As Newman said about her work over the years, “It has been a real homecoming for me to…evolve the roster’s catalog of artists and projects while preserving its rich history,” she stated. “We continue to honor artists who helped shape the label, with homages to the late Shock G of Digital Underground and Coolio, while helping to expose more audiences to their music.”
