J.I.D released his highly anticipated third studio album, The Forever Story today. The 15-track album has a noticeably autobiographical lens, with Rolling Stone noting it “is perhaps the most comprehensive look into who the 31-year-old is today.”

Thus far, The Forever Story has received wide praise, with The Clash saying, “Stunning penmanship, sensational beats, and the incredible ability to fuse the two together, J.I.D has curated a sound throughout ‘The Forever Story’ that has seen the Atlanta-born hip-hop artist return a body of work that is a masterclass, and one that has already become a quintessential classic.”

The album was preceded by the lead single “Surround Sound,” featuring 21 Savage and Baby Tate, released in January. The track has garnered over 67 million streams on Spotify, with the music video boasting over 16.9 million views. J.I.D released the second single “Dance Now” feat. Kenny Mason in August.
